Go Diego, Go!!

On Saturday, we took Harrison to see Go Diego, Go at the Walton Art Center. Hannah came over and watched Zane and Lydia (which is not a bad alternative, she's a fun babysitter!). We went to McDonald's for a fast lunch and then headed to the show. The first two pictures were taken with my phone inside the show. Of course we had to buy a Diego backpack on the way out. In the car on the way home, I asked Harrison if he had fun. He said, " I had so much fun Mom, you don't even KNOW how much fun I had. This is the best day of my life!". (The past four days have been "the best days of his life". It's been a great birthday so far!!)

Happy Birthday Harrison!!

We celebrated Harrison's 5th birthday last night. His actual birthday is on Monday (he keeps thinking there's going to be ANOTHER party). We invited mine and Jared's family plus several neighborhood kids. We had a yard full of people!! It was great. Harrison loves seafood so we had shrimp cocktail, steamed crab legs, and hot dogs. Oh, and my favorite, canned ballpark type cheese and guacamole for nachos!!! He got a trampoline for his birthday so the kids played on that, swam, and played on the slip-n-slide. It was fun and crazy!!In the background is my niece, Ashlyn. Her and Harrison could be siblings!!
He loves Webkinz!
Jared ended up cooking for the first half of the party. The crab was GREAT!! Is that Britney Spears dancing with a snake behind Jacob?
Zane had gotten back from church camp Friday afternoon. He was TIRED! This boy never falls asleep on the couch.

Strike A Pose

I couldn't pass these pictures up!! OMG, having a little girl is FUN!!

Cupcakes, Pools, and Other Fun Things!

We've had a fun and busy week. We went to the pool THREE times, Aaron and Carrie's three times, went to two birthday parties, and had LOTS of family time. It's been a GOOD week. To top it off, tonight, Harrison said that he loved Lydia more than carrots (and that's saying a lot- that boy LOVES carrots!!).
Here's Harrison helping me make cupcakes. He actually did almost EVERYTHING (and not just for the picture!!). He poured out the wet ingredients, cracked the eggs (NO shells-his grandmas let him make eggs so he's pretty much a PRO!), used the mixer, put the cupcake papers in the muffin tins, and even filled a few with batter (and of course licked the beaters!). He's going to be my little baker. Zane was helping Jared outside with the grill. Lydia was "helping" us by being good in her highchair. She's doing really good with her cup.
She's ventured into the kitchen and pulls up to the barstools.
Getting ready to go to the pool. It takes team work to get out of the house! Harrison helped Lyddie with her bottle while I packed the bags.
Harrison shooting out of the slide. Don't you love the pose!?!
We went to Aaron and Carrie's house after the pool (the guys are building a screened in back porch so we went over to play). The girls really like each other!! Zane is really good with the babies!!! I never imagined him being so soft hearted towards them!!

Just a Glimpse

When we came in from church last night Zane headed upstairs and Jared, Harrison, Lydia, and I were sitting around in the living room before we started the bedtime routine. After about 10 minutes Harrison says, "Hey, where's the other part of our family?" (very much a Harrison expression). We said that Zane was upstairs and then went back to talking and H went back to playing. A few minutes later Zane yells from upstairs, "Mom, are ya'll having a party down there?". (I didn't realize it until then that Harrison was gone) I said no and then I hear Zane say, "See, I told you we're not having a party!". Harrison screams, "YES WE ARE HAVING A PARTY, ZANE!!"(he wanted him to come downstairs and be with us so he lied-not happy about that part but I laughed really hard before he could see me). After H had gone to bed, Jared, Zane, Lydia, and I were watching soccer in Zane's room (Lydia was fighting sleep). Zane was in the floor playing with Lydia and he kind of quietly says, "I wish Harrison was here." I wanted to cry because if you know Zane, that meant a lot! I get random hugs and kisses from Harrison a LOT (and I love EVERY one of them) but when Zane walks up and puts his arm around me and gives me a quick squeeze... my heart melts. He's a very sweet kid, he just doesn't show his feelings as much. SO, with all of that said, I know that they love each other, but after a day of fighting, I needed to see it (even if it was just a glimpse =)! )

Gulley Park

On Thursday, we took the kids to Gulley Park. Every couple of weeks they have a free concert. Everyone brings blankets and chairs and the kids run around and play. It was great! I recommend trying it.
Big bonus, they were selling Maggie Moo's!
Lydia LOVES chocolate chip cookies.

Harrison came downstairs dressed like a Power Ranger. We "fought" with the swords. He's pretty tough!
He watched Lydia while I did something in another room. He's a good babysitter =)!!

Swimming Pool

We thought about putting an underground pool in for the summer, but time got away and we didn't know exactly what we wanted so we decided to do an above ground for this year. We told the boys that it'd be a "trial" pool. If they are good to help with it then we'll consider an underground next year. Here they are helping Jared build it.
They all love it! There are several pools in the neighborhood so they all go "pool hopping"! The only problem is...
the ground is a LITTLE unlevel!! One benefit is that we have a shallower end and a deeper end =). Very good for Harrison.

7 Months Old

I can't believe Lydia is 7 months old. We went to the doctor today and she weighs 16 pounds (50%) and is 25.5 inches long (40%). She has two teeth, is crawling, pulling up to EVERYTHING (which was neat at first but now she's just dangerous--she's getting much better though), and saying DaDa. Sometimes it sounds like Daddy and Jared melts into a puddle on the floor. It's so sweet! She is such a funny sweet baby. I just want to slow down time. Maybe I appreciate the small things more now since she's my last baby (can you tell by ALL of the posts about her). I'll have more about the boys this summer since we'll be together so much. I can't wait!!
The first time she pulled up in her bed. She was proud of herself!
She sucks her thumb just like my sister did!!
We have a cat (named Tuck) that comes inside for about an hour in the evenings. She is rough with him but he just comes back for more!
Harrison had his yearly check up today, too. He weighed 44 pounds (75%) and was 44 inches tall (75%). He woke up with fever and hasn't felt good all day. Poor guy. That's not how you want to start your summer! He did have cake for breakfast so that helped a little!! Hmm, wonder why he's sick. She will crawl over anything. She is loving Peek a Boo.JACK POT!! She can dig in the toy tub now!I can't forget her piano. She loves to push it into the wall and then sit there and play it.

Who Needs Baby Toys!

Harrison had his Little People in the living room tonight. Lydia played with them longer than he did!! She absolutely LOVED them!! I was going to go buy her some bigger girl toys but I think I hit the jack pot (in Harrison's closet!). She is into EVERYTHING!!
He plays SO good with her (for now). I try to soak it up because I know he'll get irritated with her soon. She tipped the basket over. She's getting tired here. Jared called her Popeye!!
Time for bed!
Today was Zane's last day of school!! He went home with a friend and they swam ALL day. He got home around 9:30 and they'd just left the pool. He'll sleep good tonight! I can't believe how big he's getting.
