Leave it to Harrison

Lyddie has not been feeling great for a few days. She had some tummy issues a few days ago (but that problem had been resolved) and has run a low fever for a few days (got higher last night but that's not the point!). I've had just kind of a cruddy day. She's been cranky and we've been stuck in the house with that "no motivation to get things done" feeling. Tonight, I gave Lydia her bottle and was just about to lay her down when she threw the ENTIRE thing up all over me, her, and the carpet (exactly what happened a few nights ago). I've been tired and ready to have my sweet, happy Lydia back so I feel like we're starting over. Poor thing! I cleaned everything up, changed my clothes, and went to tuck Harrison in. When I walked into his room he's got his chef hat on with a large spread of plastic food ALL over the floor. I couldn't help but smile (at first I was almost mad because he was supposed to be getting in bed but he looked really cute!). I laid down in his bed and here's the conversation:(I was getting irritated b/c it was taking FOREVER for him to get in bed) "Harrison! Get a book and get in bed. I'm tired and Lydia threw up all over me. I need to go take a shower."
"Umm, mom, why are you laying in my bed?" (I lay down in his bed every time we read)
"So that I can read you a book."
"I want you to read sitting up."
"I always read laying down."
"But Lydia threw up all over you and I don't want it in my bed."
I'm laughing "I changed my clothes, it's just on my skin and I need to go wash off."
"What part of your skin? Is it going to get on my bed?"
I know that it doesn't sound funny to read but it cracked me up! He's always making me laugh.

These pictures have nothing to do with my post but you can't pass up an opportunity to post pics!

"Hmm... do you think kids live there??" We moved the pool to the back of the yard so that it'd be a little more level. Too bad for the net around the trampoline. That would be FUN!Today, Harrison got a pack of tuna out of the fridge, ripped off the top, and had lunch. He takes care of things!

Baptism

On Sunday, Zane was baptized!! He was saved about a year ago but hadn't gone ahead with baptism yet. Two weeks ago he said that he was ready and he did it the next Sunday. We filled three pews with family! It was absolutely one of the greatest days!!!!
Getting dunked.

Grab a Coke!!

OK, I know that it seems a bit obsessive but I just posted about 100 pics (not really- I'm not that bad!). We've been busy and I haven't been able to put anything on. You may not hear from me again for a while!!!
We went to Market Place for lunch and got the idea to make chocolate messes for dessert that night. I thought they turned out really good. Jared and the boys did all the work. Lyddie loved it!!
And was MAD when it was time to stop!!
Lydia and Courtney play so good together! As if there wasn't already enough chocolate in it...

9 Months (almost)

Lyddie will be 9 months in a couple of days! She's still such a sweet happy baby. Very content (I'm going to be eating my words!!). She's still pulling up to everything and has gotten very steady. She's not showing signs of walking so that's good! She loves to explore the kitchen. She likes to get into the pantry and play with coke cans. The other day she crawled up 4 or 5 stairs (Jared was right behind her!). We've got baby gates ready to go up. She can drink out of a straw and has started trying quite a few new foods. She been pretty receptive so far! She's very chatty (and finally saying mama!!). I can't imagine who she got that from!!

She likes to sit in her high chair and eat Cheerios. She wasn't sure about the cantaloupe at first but ended up like it.

Granny's House

On Wednesday, I took the kids to my Granny's house for a visit. I've probably talked about her on here before but she is really, really special to me. When I was little (we lived down the street from her and my Grandpa) I would spend the night at their house EVERY Friday night. I was with them a lot. Her dog didn't even like any of the grandkids except me (I'm not bragging Matt, just stating the facts!!). We've always been really close (even though we don't get together as much as we want to!). She still lives in the house that my dad grew up in. It's so neat to be able to go there with MY kids! ANYWAY... we made rice crispy treats, played Monopoly, Scrabble, and just relaxed. Her house is one of the MOST relaxing places to me. Lyddie loved her big tv on the ground!
Zane cleaned house at Monopoly (and Scrabble)!

PaPa Ray came home before we had to leave. The kids just LOVE him (and he does them, too!).

Church Picnic

Last weekend our church had a picnic at Lake Wedington. It was fun. Just very, very hot!!

Lindsey and Kennedy

A lot of people brought their swimming suits. It looked like fun until a snake came out of the water onto the grass and then slithered BACK into the water!! I've turned into a sissy. I like swimming pools!

Swimming

Last week (I think it was last week- we've been crazy!!) our next door neighbors were out of town and told us that we were welcome to use their pool. I took the kids over for a little bit. We had a really good time.
She LOVES her brothers!! I know that I keep saying that but she really does! They are just as crazy about her, too. Harrison hurt his foot right after we got there and couldn't swim. He was a little cranky. I would be, too.
Harrison took my picture with Lydia. I'm hardly ever in the pictures! He did a good job of centering it. I didn't crop it or anything!
She makes the funniest faces right now. My favorite is when she scrunches up her nose and smiles from ear to ear (this is a little bit like it).

Girl Time

The boys are with my parents in Branson so Lydia and I have had some good girl time! We went shopping today and we both tried on clothes. Then we found some sweet little chairs at Target that I've been eyeing for a LONG time. I got them down and let her play all over them. We sent these pictures to Daddy. Maybe he won't be able to resist one...

Home Sweet Home

This was what we found in our backyard when we got home! That is our pool FLIPPED over on it's top. We had to drain it before we left (I forgot to put chlorine in it for a couple of days and it turned into a pond) and a big storm came through right before we got home! We turned it back over and Jared put it back together. The boys really missed Lydia. She was much happier to see them than she was to see me. It took her a few minutes to warm up to Jared and I. When she saw they boys she almost came out of my arms trying to get to them. She just laughed and hugged and kissed them!! She's starting to get more hair. You can't really tell in the picture but it's there!!

Going Out!

O.K., I'm finally going to finish posting vacation pics!! I quit taking my camera down so we don't really have any more pictures. We got to know a really nice family on the beach throughout the week so we asked if their girls (16 and 18) would want to babysit. They were excited to do it so we got to have an adult night out. We went to dinner just down the street from the condo (just incase) and had a great time. We even got to see dolphins while we ate(of course we didn't have a camera!).

Wednesday

We had another good day at the beach. The only problem is the jellyfish. There were a lot out there today. We've got some LSU and Alabama fans next to us. Everyone is playing nicely =) !!
The boys are enjoying a snowcone break.
They boys next to us were catching jellyfish. YUCK!!
Zane had an earache from the water so he went in early. Harrison's favorite thing is to be thrown as HIGH as you can get him. While he's under water he turns around and swims back. I'm so proud of how good he's swimming.
At dinner we ordered seared tuna as an appetizer. The boys really like it. I was a little surprised!
After dinner we went and played mini golf and arcade games. Zane won Deal or No Deal and got 200 tickets. He bought candy!! Here's the boys with their loot. After that we went and had ice cream (at 10:45!!).

Tuesday

Another great day at the beach!! Tonight, we had crab legs for dinner. Jared and Zane did a great job of steaming them! I think everyone tried them and loved them!
Here's everyone getting ready for the day! Reading their magazines and surfing the net!
Zane and Jared steaming the crab.

Hmm... wonder who he wants to be like!!!
Before......and after!
