Branson

Last Thursday, we took the kids to Branson. We planned to go to Silver Dollar City but the line of traffic was awful!! We would've sat in the car for over an hour just to get there. We left it up to the boys and they decided not to go. We took them to play mini golf, ride go-carts, and play arcade games. Oh, and we went to FOUR stores...everytime they fought we added a store to the list. We stayed at Chateau on the Lake (one of my FAVORITE hotels). We stayed around the hotel, played games, and the boys went swimming. Friday night, they played a movie on a big screen by the pool. We ordered dinner from the restaurant and ate while we watched the movie. It was a very relaxing weekend. One of our little traditions is getting candy from the vending machines. It's one of the boys' favorite things about staying in a hotel. Here they are with their goods!!

Lydia and I were almost asleep in this picture. She actually did fall asleep and we stayed there while the boys went up to take showers. My phone was almost dead but I was trying to hang in there for another week and a half until my contract expired. Lyddie dropped it and it busted in half. She had so much fun pushing it around the carpet and climbing the stairs with it. If you've tried to call, now you know why I haven't picked up. I'll get a new phone on the 20th!!

Glad you had fun in Branson, too bad Silver Dollar City was so packed! Thanks for being our cheerleader on this diet!! :) We've decided once we are done, we are going to severely cut out processed foods. I definitely need my milk back, but we will only add the other dairy in moderation. Lloyd says he needs fish and chicken, so that will come back in moderation too. It has definitely been an eye opener to the crap we normally eat!

Fun times! We've seen the same S.D.C. problem many times when we've been there too. My grandparents take the whole family to Branson every Labor Day wknd. & we learned a valuable lesson last yr. If you stay/lodge on the OTHER side (West, I believe) of S.D.C., there is ZERO traffic into the park. It's a lil' outside of town, but the cabin the family stayed in last Labor Day was on that side of town & it was beautiful. We weren't actually going there that wknd., but we passed the MILES of traffic waiting to get into the park on our way into town every day that wknd. Just FYI! Glad y'all had fun, what a fun hotel! I've always thought it was beautiful (from the outside atleast).
